Our FIRST Rise-n-Shine this morning. Good Times!!!!

Ms. Lainey Linders was named Student of the Month and Mr. Chase Spor received Hug-a-Bear....Pictures will be coming soon (my camera decided it did not want to download the pics I took of the kids.)

I (Mrs. Hanes) even had to compete in a Minute to Win It game. I had to put a cookie on my head and try to get it to my mouth WITHOUT using my hands....LOL...I totally did not WIN....but no one did...LOL so I guess it was ok.

Flat Stanleys will be sent out this week, however one of our Stanleys is on his way RIGHT NOW to Singapore! WOOT WOOT! We are so excited for all of their endeavors.

REMINDER: THERE WILL BE NO SCHOOL TOMORROW, FRIDAY, AUGUST 30, 2013 DUE TO TEACHER INSERVICE. ALSO THERE WILL BE NO SCHOOL MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2013 DUE TO LABOR DAY.

ANOTHER "TRIAL" WORDS THEIR WAY (SPELLING) TEST WAS TODAY. A LOT OF THE KIDS DID GREAT. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE STUDYING WITH YOUR CHILD EACH NIGHT.

FLAT STANLEYS WILL BE ON THEIR WAY AT THE BEGINNING OF NEXT WEEK. WE ARE SOOOOOO EXCITED FOR ALL OF HIS ADVENTURES. SOME OF STANLEYS ARE GOING TO KANDAR, AFGHANISTAN, SINGAPORE, AND SEVERAL OTHER STATES IN THE US.

Our FIRST Monday!

We have had a GREAT Monday...We have stayed SUPER DUPER busy...

Today we learned about how our Spelling will work this year. We are using Words Their Way (WTW).

We also read Flat Stanley and learned about Character, Setting, Problem, and Solution. We also colored our Flat Stanley.

In Poetry, we read a poem called We're Racing Racing Down the Walk and learned about Onomatopoeias which are words that make sounds (EX: Knock! Knock! and Tick Tock!)

This afternoon we even did Rocket Math (which is a Homework page every night).

Your kids are FANTABULOUS and I love them very much!

REMINDER: If you have not turned your packets in that need to be filled out, please do so ASAP!

It has been FANTABULOUS day here in 2nd grade...We have learned about procedures, put our supplies away, had pretzels and M&M's for snack, and we even played Marvelous Me with M&M's...

We even learned a new game called "Quiet Mouse" where we find super duper quiet kids to walk the room...

We have already had several kids clip up and some are already on PINK (OUTSTANDING)

Looking forward to the rest of the day with the COOLEST teacher in the world (Mrs. Hanes)...LOL
